Thanks to our friends at The Original Music City Task Force, Philadelphia finally has its own music month! In a little less than a year ago, Philadelphia finally got its official props from the city’s council to be known as a music city. One of its initiatives that has come to pass is declaring May, Philly Music Month.

In celebration of this achievement and many more to come, Philly Soul Now has put together Songs About Philly: a Spotify playlist of songs from Philadelphia artists past and present that shoutout the 215. Of course it goes without saying that no list of this kind would be complete without “MotownPhilly” by Boyz II Men and “TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)” by MFSB & The Three Degrees. But check out our playlist of songs from Philly’s born and raised, some that could very well become known as another Philly anthem.
