On Saturday, April 1, The Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts will honor the late jazz great and Philly’s own Joey DeFrancesco with a tribute concert to celebrate his life and music. Joey DeFrancesco passed away at the age of 51 in 2022. This is one of two concerts that have been organized by his wife Mrs. Gloria DeFrancesco in his memory. The second will be held on April 9 in Phoenix, AZ where the DeFrancescos resided at the time of his passing.
The Clef Club concert will feature a number of musicians who had the honor of playing with DeFrancesco throughout his career. Members of the Joey DeFrancesco Trio, Anwar Marshall (drums) and Lucas Brown (guitar) will join Orrin Evans, Terell Stafford, Jerry Weldon, and the Temple U Jazz Band to celebrate his legacy.
All proceeds will go to fund PCC Summer Music Camp. For tickets, click here.
